Elevating First-Time Leaders for the Next Wave of Work

Helping individual contributors at fast-growing tech and IT-enabled companies grow into confident first-time leaders modern teams need.

The Nextwave Leaders brings together a unique blend of experiential learning, psychological insight, and real workplace systems experience. Through our practical, experiential programs, we help newly promoted first-time leaders become the confident people leaders who can lead remote teams, Gen Z employees, and AI-driven change.

We work with individuals as well as HR and L&D teams who are watching strong individual contributors step into leadership roles without ever being taught how to lead people. Our mission is to close that gap through practice, not theory.

Who We Are

The Nextwave Leaders was co-founded by Jahnavi Bhardwaj and Thejashree Shankar - two people who come at leadership from very different starting points and land on the same belief: most first-time leaders aren't uncaring, they're under-equipped. Jahnavi brings the experiential facilitation, corporate systems thinking and improv-based practice. Thejashree brings the psychology and coaching depth that makes the shift actually stick.

Our Approach

Four steps, run the same way every time.

  1. 1

    We Hear You Out

Before we design anything, we listen - to HR, to the leaders, to what's actually breaking down on the ground. No assumptions, no templated diagnosis.

  2. 2

    We Personally Curate the Session

Every session is built around your team's real context - your industry, your promotion patterns, your specific friction points. Not a generic deck we run for everyone.

  3. 3

    We Facilitate Fun Learning Experiences

We teach through practice - role-play, scenario work, improv-based exercises - because people remember what they rehearse, not what they're told.

  4. 4

    We Reassess the Impact

We check what actually changed. Feedback, reflection, and where relevant, a before-and-after read on confidence and growth - not just a satisfaction score at the end of the day.
